Commercial cleaning advice.
Practical guidance for the people responsible for premises.
Why a written cleaning specification matters
Most cleaning disputes come from unclear expectations. A specification sets out each area, the tasks involved and how often they happen. It gives both sides a shared reference, makes standards measurable, and means a change of cleaner doesn't mean a change in standard.
Five questions to ask a commercial cleaning provider
- Will you visit the premises before quoting?
- Will I receive a written specification and schedule?
- Who manages the cleaners day to day?
- How are absences and continuity handled?
- What happens, and how quickly, when I report a problem?
Hourly rate or service price?
An hourly rate tells you what labour costs, not what you will get. A price for a defined service ties the cost to an outcome you have agreed, which is easier to budget for and easier to hold a provider to.
